Prof Musili Wambua is currently a full Professor of Law at the University of Nairobi School of Law where he teaches maritime law and the law of the sea with a special research interest in maritime security. He has held senior public appointments including Associate Dean for the School o law (2010- 2016) and Chancellor of the University of Embu (2013-2021). He has also been a visiting scholar at other universities and institutions of higher learning in Kenya, Rwanda, India, South Africa and Germany.
Prof. Wambua has been a resident research scholar in maritime security at the prestigious Max Planck Institute of Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg Germany and at the Security Institute for Governance and Leadership in Africa (SIGLA) Stellenbosch University, South Africa. He has published widely on maritime security, and has won several academic awards and fellowships. Besides teaching law, Prof Wambua has also been a leading legal practitioner and arbitrator. He holds LL.B degree from the University of Nairobi; a Post Graduate Diploma in Law (with Distinction) from the Kenya School of Law; an LL.M (with Merit) from the University of London; an MBA (with Merit) from USIU-Africa; and an LL.D (Maritime Law) from Ghent University, Belgium.
