A senior educator with 36 years of experience and a synergistic organizational leader with over fifteen (15) years of developing and overseeing the implementation of corporate strategy, goals, policies, and objectives in higher education in Kenya. Starting from the Director position from 2007 to 2014 at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Director of Postgraduate studies at JKUAT (2014), she has served as Deputy Principal (Administration, Finance, Planning, and Development) at Murang’a University College, served as Mount Kenya University Council as well as Kenya Education Management Institute, KEMI/KESI board, influencing the institutions in ethical leadership, transparency, and accountability.
She is currently the Deputy Commission Secretary (Accreditation) at the Commission for University Education (CUE), Nairobi, keen on ensuring the establishment of quality universities and academic programmes well benchmarked with international standards. This is particularly in inspiring universities to be deliberate in the involvement of professionals from the industry in teaching at the university as well as university academic staff and their students having more access to a well-structured industrial practical workplace experience; enhanced investment in modernized physical infrastructure, technology, and innovative research; Integration of National Values and soft skills in University Curricular as well as functional career offices in universities.
Further, since 2017, Prof Njoroge has spearheaded the development of instruments for external quality assurance for Kenyan Universities, the East African region as well as universities in Somalia region.
She also served as a Project Manager in a Dutch-funded program known as NUFFIC that aimed to improve the quality and relevance of University training and research and has been involved in several consultancy works, notably with the European Union on improving guidelines for institutional accreditation and internal quality in Somali regions and Biodiversity Conservation Program, and the Food and Agriculture Organisation. She has vast experience in editing research projects and fundraising. She also has authored and co-authored book chapters, conference papers, and articles in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of Sustainable Natural Resource Management, Policy Development, and Community Empowerment.
She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Botany from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and a Master of Science Degree in Plant Taxonomy and a Bachelor of Education (Science) from Kenyatta University.Â
