Prof George Odera Outa, holding a PhD, is a versatile scholar in Literary Studies, Policy Communication, and International Law. He was based at the Institute for Climate Change and Adaptation, University of Nairobi, before his current appointment. Prof. Odera-Outa has served in advisory and consulting roles for UNDP in various capacities, including at Kenya's Ministry of National Planning, Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Trade and Industry, African Union Commission Headquarters, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs for major conferences like SBEC 2018 and TICAD VI, 2016. A research associate of the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI)- Africa Centre, he graduated in Law from the University of London (UK) and the University of California-Hastings (USA), previously a 'Tothil Prestige Scholar' at the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa). Prof. Odera-Outa has taught, examined diverse courses since 1988 at theUniversity of Nairobi, receiving awards such as the St Andrews (UK) Prize for the Environment (2001) and Governance in East Africa Research Awards (1993). He is an international consulting editor for UNDP publications, including the Government of Kenya's, consulting for major companies and international organizations in Africa.
