Is a farmer with over eight years of farming experience using both traditional and modern methods of farming. She hails from Makueni county, Kaiti Sub-county, Ukia ward, Kilala location, Kinyongo village. She practices as a Regenerative agriculture (RA) and climate-smart agriculture (CSA) expert and a commercial farmer. In 2020 she was selected by Cereal Growers Association (CGA) working under Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) as a village-based advisor (VBA) whereby she underwent training in Regenerative agriculture and climate-smart agriculture practices and technologies. She possesses demonstrated experience in the application of modern agricultural techniques of RA and CSA such as minimum soil disturbance, mulching, cover crops, intercropping, crop rotation, use of organic manure, planting certified seeds, agroforestry, cultivation of drought tolerant crops, soil and water conservation strategies. She has implemented the RA/CSA techniques on her farm leading to a significant reduction in the cost of production and improved quality of farm soil health hence leading to increased crop yields. Occasionally, she hosts different agricultural stakeholders for benchmarking i.e. from different counties and others from outside the country. As a CSA expert, she offers capacity building to farmers. Presently she has trained more than 200 farmers using her pilot demo farm which is registered under the Amb Kikaya DARIF AGRI VENTURES. She trains farmers from various areas across the county on land preparations, seed spacing, crop protection, and RA and CSA technologies. Most of her trained farmers have already adopted the modern farming techniques while others are adopting slowly leading to increased harvests, serving as evidence of success. Recently, she ventured into poultry farming to diversify farming activities though the project is still at a budding stage.
