Dr Ruth Kagia, with extensive experience in government and international organizations, has held influential roles from 2014 to September 2022 as Senior Advisor/Deputy Chief of Staff in Kenya's Executive Office of the President. In this capacity, she directed high-impact Presidential programs and international development initiatives. Simultaneously, she led the Presidential Policy and Strategy Unit, overseeing a team of experts in driving and coordinating priority programs. Before this, she spent over two decades at the World Bank (1990-2013), assuming key roles including World Bank Global Director for Education and World Bank Country Director for Southern Africa. Notably, she facilitated the creation of the Global Partnership for Education, a significant fund for education transformation in lower-income nations. Prior to her international roles, Dr Kagia contributed to Kenya's education and research sectors. Her academic background includes degrees from the Universities of Nairobi, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Commonwealth University.
