Dr Jacinta Maweu is a Senior Lecturer specializing in Philosophy and Media studies at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. With MA degrees in both Philosophy and Media studies from the University of Nairobi, and a PhD in Media Ethics and the Political Economy of the Media from Rhodes University in South Africa, she is an accomplished scholar and educator. Her expertise spans media-related fields including conflict resolution, peacebuilding, democracy, human rights, ethics, political economy, climate change communication, and environmental ethics. Dr. Maweu actively engages in teaching, research, and consultancy. Her significant
contributions are reflected in a diverse range of publications, including her recent books: "Media, Ethnicity and Electoral Conflicts in Kenya" (2022) and co-edited work "Media, Conflict and Peace-building in Africa: Conceptual and Empirical Considerations" (2021). Her work showcases her deep commitment to understanding and enhancing the complex interactions between media, society, and key global issues.
