Is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at Moi University. With a background as a lecturer at the University College of Education, Zanzibar, he holds an M.A. in Settlement Geography from Kenyatta University and a PhD in Geography from Moi University. He has also pursued post-doctoral research at the University of Venda, South Africa, and is a beneficiary of the Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA). He is an associate member of the International Graduate School (IGS) North South. Dr. Okaka's expertise encompasses climate change, population health, urban, rural, regional, and industrial geography. His primary specialization is in Climate Change and Population Health. His significant contributions include extensive publications on climate change, natural disasters, and population health. He has secured competitive research grants and actively participated in over 25 domestic and international conferences, showcasing his profound commitment to advancing geographic research and education.
