Dr Eric Aligula is a committed, analytical, detail-oriented, and dependable public policy analyst, with more than 15 years of experience gained in public service, in continuous pursuit of innovative, evidence based solutions to development challenges who has worked at the University of Nairobi, the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis, and the Presidency (current). In this journey, he has worked with partners in public service, international development agencies, domestic and international private sectors, as well as civil society, and community-based groups. His work portfolio includes the development of various national strategy documents such as the Economic Recovery Strategy for Wealth and Employment Creation in 2003; the Kenya Vision 2030 in 2008 and related Medium-Term Development Plans. He has led or participated in various efforts culminating in the Report on the Behavior of Oil Majors in Kenya, 2004; the Integrated National Transport Policy, 2004 & 2009; the Nairobi Metro 2030 Strategy, 2008; Whole of Government Transport Policy, 2008; the Final Report of the Taskforce on Devolved Government, 2011; the Report of The Presidential Taskforce on Parastatal Reforms in 2013; the Rediscovering the Road to Prosperity Report on the Blue Economy in 2016 amongst others. Dr. Aligula has a track record of good leadership, with a clear vision, creativity, innovation, self-drive, and a results' orientation. This is demonstrated by the twenty-six (26) peer-reviewed publications comprising twelve (12) papers, three (3) books, and eleven (11) book chapters as well as sixteen (16) client reports that he has authored or co-authored, all of which have had some influence on public policy in the country. This work has enabled him to be part of various multi-agency and multi-disciplinary policy teams covering national economic development planning, sectoral planning in respect of devolved government, spatial planning, energy, transport, ICT, and the oceans and blue economy amongst others. A recipient of the Moran of the Burning Spear, Third Class Order of the Burning Spear awarded by H.E. the President of the Republic of Kenya.
