Is a dedicated Ph.D. student in International Studies at the University of Nairobi and a lecturer at Somali National University. Holding three Master's degrees from institutions including Kampala University in Uganda, Korean Development Institute (KDI) School in South Korea, and Benadir University in Somalia, he has a diverse educational background. He also possesses a Postgraduate Diploma in Law and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communication from Mogadishu University. Mr. Bashir's extensive writing experience includes bylines in prominent outlets like Aljazeera, the Elephant, Nation Media, Addis Standard, and Anadole Agency, alongside Somali-owned media. With a rich professional history, he has served for ten years at the Somali Federal Parliament and is presently engaged at the Somali Academy of Science, Culture and Arts. Additionally, he is the Executive Director of the East African Institute for Peace and Governance, a growing think tank focusing on research in East African Affairs. Notably, Mr. Bashir is the author of the recently published book "Horn of Africa: History, Politics and Dynamics."
