Dinah Ogara, PhD (Japan), is a land-sea planning and management expert specialising in the area of sustainable port and city development. With a PhD in integrated land-sea planning and management, her research explores understanding the complex interplay between port-urban interface development, maritime activities, and environmental conservation. With a passion for fostering positive change in coastal cities, Dr. Ogara's research interests lie in developing innovative strategies to optimise port city infrastructure, promote sustainable economic growth and safeguard sensitive coastal urban ecosystems. Within the Partnership for Religion and Development (PaRD), she serves as a co-lead of the WECARE workstream. In this capacity, she collaborates with governments, international organizations, and private sector stakeholders to champion the advancement and attainment of SDG 11, 13, 14 and 15 among others. She is also the Coordinator of the PaRD Africa Voice forum. Dr. Ogara actively engages in academic pursuits providing teaching, mentorship and guidance services in spatial planning and design at the Technical University of Kenya and the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. She holds a B.A in Urban Planning (Hons)(Kenya), M.A Planning (Kenya), MGEO in Urban Planning and Management from the University of Twente, Netherlands.
