About Me

Brigadier (Rtd) Wilson Boinett is a distinguished military and intelligence professional credited with transforming Kenya's intelligence services during his decade-long tenure as the inaugural Director-General of the National Security Intelligence Service (NSIS), now the National Intelligence Service (NIS). He also served in the Kenya Army for 24 years, including in peacekeeping missions in Zimbabwe/Rhodesia, Mozambique, and Chad. Boinett also served as the Chief of Military Intelligence and as an aide-de-camp to President Moi. He is a graduate of the National Defense University in Washington, D.C. Following his retirement in 2006, he became a board member of Veracity Worldwide PLC, Guardian Bank, and a trustee of the National Intelligence and Research University College (NIRUC), Kenya. Known for his visionary leadership, Boinett remains a respected figure in Kenya’s security and governance sectors.
