Alice Keru, a master’s student at Pwani University, is deeply committed to environmental concerns and ethics. Currently pursuing a zero-carbon scholarship fellowship, she is focused on her Philosophy thesis, examining Wangari Maathai's Environmental Conscientization as a blueprint for environmental education in Kenya. Notably, she presented a paper titled 'The Role of Education System in the Development of Sustainable Environmental Solutions: A Case Study of Wangari Maathai’s Conscientization' at the 1st international conference on Reshaping Education for Sustainable Development in Kigali, Rwanda. Dedicated to environmental conservation and community engagement, Alice verifies environmental aspects of upcoming projects like sanitation facilities and road construction. Additionally, she mentors as a social safety consultant in Kilifi County, supporting settlements benefitting from related projects.
