Denis Muniu represented GLOCEPS in a thought-provoking seminar organized by the University of Nairobi's Africa Center for the Study of the US (ACSUS). The seminar held on 19th November 2024 reflected six decades of US-Kenya diplomatic, trade, and investment relations. It brought together academics, policymakers, and business leaders to deliberate on critical topics including AGOA, STIP, and Kenya’s strategic positioning as a gateway to East Africa. The seminar underscored the vital role that think tanks can play by conducting actionable research to refine Kenya’s trade policies, enhance its negotiating strategies, and promote its strategic relevance

At Serena Hotel, Nairobi, GLOCEPS Executive Director, Dr K. Asembo bid farewell to the outgoing Ambassador of Japan to Kenya, His Excellency Ken Okaniwa who is ending his tour of duty in Kenya. It was a great moment to celebrate the fruitful collaboration between GLOCEPS and the Embassy since Amb Okaniwa arrived in Kenya. Particularly significant was the co-hosting of the Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) symposium on 28th February 2023. We wish H.E Amb Okaniwa all the best in his next assignment.

Gloceps Ag Executive Director, Dr Ken Asembo held a fruitful engagement with Ifrah A. Farah, CEO Midnimo Women Network, Osama Sulub, Ethiopia MP, Anwar Abdifatah Bashir, ED East African Institute for Peace and Governance and Dr Barkhad Kaariye, ED Ardaa Research Institute. The meeting aimed to explore possible areas of collaboration among the Horn of Africa organizations.
Gloceps non-resident fellow, Amb. Solomon K. Maina and Research fellow, Denis Muniu joined other panelists at the East African Institute for Peace & Governance 1st Annual Peace Conference to discuss a timely topic on foreign meddling, proxy wars and external influence in the Horn of Africa
GLOCEPS team of experts and associates led by Dr. K.O. Asembo, PHD - Ag. Executive Director held a consultative meeting with First and Second Secretary Political Section, Ms. Kobayashi Noriko and Ms. Sumire Kobayashi of the Embassy of Japan at its premises. Meeting discussed possible areas of collaboration between GLOCEPS and Japanese Think tanks.
